Middle East University (NEU), founded in 1988 in the capital of Northern Cyprus, Nicosia, is now one of the largest universities in Northern Cyprus. By status, the University is a private educational institution. Students receive an international and high-quality education in English. There is a stable transport connection for students in the city.
General information
The University has more than 25,000 students from 65 countries and four continents. The international teaching staff is represented by more than 25 countries.
The University is a member of the Association of European universities (EUA), the international Association of universities (IAU) under the auspices of UNESCO, and the Federation of universities of the Islamic world (FUIW). The STB also has international membership and accreditation in IGIP (International society for engineering training) and JCI (international organization for leadership and entrepreneurship development).
The University organizes and conducts scientific conferences and symposiums at the international level, which are attended by leading experts and world-renowned scientists from different countries.
Research
Scientists and students of the University are working on research on the problems and prevention of malignant tumors, having joined the research in the field of finding ways to treat the Ebola virus disease since 2014. The University has at its disposal a supercomputer, which in terms of computing speed and memory capacity is rated as the most powerful in the region and the 13th in the world. The NEU-IBM research center works fruitfully in the fields of medical Sciences, chemistry, physics, astronomy, architecture, and mathematics within the framework of the study of Northern Cyprus and the European research area.
In 2014, a research group from the University of the middle East created the first domestic vehicle in Northern Cyprus, the RA 25, which runs exclusively on solar energy. The car took part in the world event on the use of solar energy. Currently, the University is developing a more advanced model of the car, the RA 26, with the aim of launching it into mass production as a family car.
The University has one of the best herbariums in the world, conducts research in the field of history, politics, and fabric development. The University has close cooperation with the Eastern Mediterranean University in the field of research of the sea around Cyprus, water quality, marine biodiversity, genetic ordering of marine organisms and factors that threaten them.
Specialty and direction training
The University has 16 faculties that successfully train highly qualified specialists of 98 names and directions. There is also a Department of postgraduate education, including postgraduate studies.
All tuition rates are based on a 50% discount on tuition for international students, which is provided for the programs of obtaining associate bachelor's degree.

Training calendar
The academic year calendar consists of two semesters: autumn and spring.
You can enter the University in September or February.
Enrollment for the fall semester runs from September 1 to October 1. Training lasts until January 15. Winter holidays: from January 20 to February 5.
Enrollment for the spring semester runs from February 5 to March 1. Training lasts until June 25. The preparatory course costs 1,100 euros per year.
Additional enrollment for the preparatory course is available from July 6.
Material base
Educational facilities (classrooms, laboratories) together with the College, 2 high schools and a graduate school are concentrated on the campus. The middle East University has its own primary school and kindergarten.
The University has more than 40 operating laboratories equipped with the most modern research equipment.
The University has a Cultural Center and a Congress Center where congresses, scientific conferences, concerts, dance shows and other cultural events are held, including the annual international Cyprus Theater Festival. There are four smaller auditoriums in the Center.
The University has three museums: the communication Museum, the Art Museum, and the Classic Car Museum.
A hospital was established at the faculty of medicine, which was opened in 2008. The hospital has several research centers, such as the Medical radiology Research center. It is the largest private hospital in Cyprus.
The faculty of medicine carries out preventive medical examinations of students and school children as part of strengthening health care in the country.
The pride of the University is the library with an area of more than 15,000 square meters, which has a powerful scientific and methodological potential of 1 million. printed materials and more than 150 million electronic resources. The library has four permanent halls with a total capacity of 1000 people. Up to 7 thousand people use the library's services every day.
Leisure and entertainment for students
The social life of the students of this educational institution is concentrated in a variety of different interest clubs covering various areas of human activity, whether it is engineering, Economics, pedagogy, architecture, medicine, law or sports.
Most of the clubs are game sports: basketball, football, tennis, volleyball, and handball. As well as Aeronautics, horse riding, mountain climbing, wrestling, athletics, Cycling, swimming and chess. There is a regularly performing water ballet team.
The University is home to the only indoor Olympic swimming pool in the country with an area of 2,700 square meters.members of the University's swimming team win medals at international Championships.
The University holds an annual spring festival with the invitation of famous Cypriot, Turkish and international singers, groups, dance festivals, sports and Board games competitions. In 2014 the University created the middle East Park on an area of 220,000 square meters, where concerts by Deep Purple, the Moscow State Ballet and many others took place.
The University also participates in the annual rock festival and organizes the student cultural carnival in Nicosia, during which the streets are filled with locals and guests.

Requirements for applicants ' documentation
The following documents are required for admission to the middle East University:
- 12 photos, 3 by 4;
- school certificate or Lyceum diploma (the result of the unified state exam does not matter);
- passport and copy of the passport;
- list of all completed disciplines and grades.
Knowledge of English is welcome. Each University applicant is tested to determine the degree of knowledge of the English language.
